Nearby residents are again up in arms about increased traffic and noise from the Elliot St mosque, which they claim has reached unacceptable levels for a residential area.
Mat Lumalasi, who lives across the road from the mosque, said the congregation had increased significantly since the mosque extended the premises about 12 months ago.
He said part of the expansion included a covered outdoor area with a PA system which allowed the sound to travel right into neighbouring properties.
"This is unacceptable, the level of noise can be heard in my house with the door closed and on the weekend prayers went for over an hour and a half,'' Mr Lumalasi.
"It has got nothing to do with what kind of church it is but rather the fact that it is in a residential area.
"The first prayer is before dawn and the last after dusk and there are hundreds of cars in the area. It should be in an industrial area where there is plenty of parking around.''
ONE MORE NEIGHBORHOOD LOST TO PC MUSLIM APPEASING POLITICS.
