AN EXTENSION to a Kidlington immigration centre for new sports and bathroom facilities and a larger mosque may be approved next week.
Care and Custody Ltd, which runs Campsfield House for the Home Office, wants to build a single-storey extension to the sports hall for a fitness room, toilet and shower facility.
The company is also seeking permission from Cherwell District Council to convert the existing fitness room into a larger mosque under the scheme, financed by the Home Office.
The Langford Lane facility has been used since 1993 to house male detainees pending removal or case resolution.
About 55 per cent of its 216 spaces are currently taken by Muslim detainees and its application says a larger mosque will “help meet the religious and cultural needs of our Muslim detainees”.
STRANGE HOW WE NEVER HEAR OF HINDUS,CHRISTIANS,JEWS ETC.DEMANDING THEIR "RELIGIOUS & CULTURAL NEEDS" TO BE FULFILLED WHEN THEY IN THE COUNTRY ILLEGALLY.
