Under its US Ambassador’s Fund for Cultural Preservation, the US embassy and its consulates have begun important partnerships with Peshawar Museum, Lahore Museum and Taxila Museum with the goal of building direct linkages with American museums.
Laura Tedesco, who is an archaeologist and serves as the cultural heritage programme manager for the US Department of State’s Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs and is currently on her visit to Pakistan to find ways to forge more partnerships in the area, expressed these views during a briefing.
She informed that since its inception, the Ambassador’s Fund has built one of its most impressive and wide-ranging programmes in Pakistan. Beginning in 2001 with a project to restore and conserve the stone foundations of Sirkap, the US embassy has worked with partners in the Pakistani federal and provincial governments on 17 different projects throughout Pakistan. These projects cover all eras of the cultural history of the land especially the Gandharan and Mughal history that today comprises Pakistan.
The US Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation is the centrepiece of an important and growing partnership in the US-Pakistan strategic partnership. The US embassy and its partners in the Pakistani government and private sector will be looking to extend these initiatives in new directions as part of the growing strategic partnership between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
Let the hateful,Taliban loving Muslim fuckers save their own heritage, surely,Saudis can spare few bucks to help them out.
